Black Sage Pass
On September 13th and 14, 2019 HCCA worked closely with agencies, stakeholders, and volunteers to implement a successful (and fun!) wet meadows restoration project on Forest Service lands near Black Sage Pass in Gunnison County. We constructed numerous one-rock dams and rock structures for the benefit of the grouse and other wildlife, camped overnight in the area, and repeated our work the next day. We had a robust group of students, professionals, and retirees, and the work day was captured by a photographer for the Denver Post, with a story and photos were prominently featured on the front page of the September 22nd, 2019 Denver Post.
