On Monday, November 17th at 5 p.m., High Country Conservation Advocates (HCCA) will host an informational coffee chat titled, “What’s this State Water Plan, anyway?” at Rumors Coffee and Tea House in Crested Butte.

 

The talk will feature HCCA Water Director, Julia Naniaand be a casual presentation and discussion over warm beverages on whatthe Colorado State Water Plan is, why it is important to the Gunnison Valley, and how and why citizens should be involved.

 

Topics on water can be esoteric and hard to relate to your everyday life. Our goal with this talk is to help every person understand how the first ever State Water Plan relates to you; what’s the status of the plan currently, and how easy it is to engage and protect ourway of life in the Upper Gunnison Basin – scenic landscapes, vast recreation opportunities, and ranching heritage.
