The board and staff of High Country Conservation Advocates are extremely happy to announce to our community our new Executive Director, Michele Simpson. We know this appointment fulfills Michele’s and our desire to complete our highly qualified team with someone who knows and cares about the Gunnison Valley as much as anyone can.
In her 30 years living in the Valley, Michele has been a part of the growth and success of a number of community non-profits, as well as her own family. She has participated in innumerable activities for the benefit of our community, from Nordic skiing, theatre and film to wildflowers and sustainable food sources, while raising funds and general goodwill for environmental, conservation, humanitarian and other worthy causes.
Skilled in management, strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising, policy implementation and administration, Michele is well-prepared to assist our professional team in achieving HCCA’s mission of protecting our mountains and rivers, and saving Red Lady and our community from a molybdenum mine.
We hope you will join us in welcoming Michele to our organization as we enter our 38th year.
