We welcome all current members and those wanting to become members to join us at our Annual Meeting, taking place Wednesday, October 8th from 6 – 8 pm at the Crested Butted Union Congregational Church (UCC) at 403 Maroon Avenue.
If you choose to attend, please bring something for a potluck feast of appetizers and desserts – preferably finger food. Drinks will be provided. After time to eat, drink and converse with fellow HCCA members, the program will begin with updates by Board President Rob Burnett, and HCCA Program Directors. Next, our special guest and speaker for the night, Professor John Hausdoerffer of Western State Colorado University (WSCU), will present his provocatively, “What is your ‘rice’? Claiming the ecological basis of your community.”
John Hausdoerffer is the Professor and Director of the Master of Environmental Management Program; Professor of Environmental Sustainability & Philosophy; Director, Headwaters Project at WSCU. He is also the author of many books on the topic of wilderness from the philosophical, historical and cultural perspective.
For 2014, current Board members Lindsay Arell, Sandy Shea, and HCCA President Rob Burnett, are up for re-election. If you are an active member and would like to vote in the board elections, you should have received an email with the survey link. If you have any questions, or did not receive the email, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Board election ballots will be accepted on Survey Monkey until Tuesday, October 7th at 11:59 pm. If you prefer to vote in person, please visit our offices located at 407 4th Street #8, Crested Butte (above Mtn Earth).
You may also hand deliver your votes to the Annual Meeting, on October 8th. (Since we have gone paperless with voting this year, you will just need to write your votes on a piece of paper, and bring it with you to the event.)
We hope to see all our members on Wednesday, October 8th, for a fun, community-building evening!
HCCA Board President
