On Saturday, Sept. 6 and Sunday, Sept. 7, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is coming to Crested Butte to continue making improvements and controlling erosion on Crested Butte Mountain’s Summit Trail. In 2013, HCCA members and other volunteers repaired several hundred feet of trail, making for a much-improved hiking experience. Our members truly enjoyed the hands-on experience.

VOC, US Forest Service, CBMR, High Country Conservation Advocates and others invite you to be a part of this weekend work-and-fun event. Free camping will be available in Mt. Crested Butte on Friday and Saturday nights, or you can sleep at home. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided on Saturday; breakfast and lunch on Sunday, so all you need to do is come shovel-ready! There will be a Saturday evening program and raffle for volunteers.

HCCA encourages your participation, which will help the project proceed more quickly. To register, go to www.voc.org. Please register ahead of time to help with tool and food planning.
