HCCA and filmmaker Cody Perry are excited to showcase an evening of films celebrating the landscapes, rivers, and communities in and around the Gunnison Basin.

About the event

Join HCCA and acclaimed filmmaker Cody Perry for an evening of conservation storytelling centered on the need for advocacy and protection of our landscapes and rivers for the health of our communities.


The evening will begin with The GORP Act Video Series, a collection of short films featuring voices from across the Gunnison Basin and surrounding areas. These stories highlight the importance of safeguarding public lands and explore how the proposed Gunnison Outdoor Resources Protection (GORP) Act would support the region by protecting landscapes, recreation opportunities, wildlife habitat, and public land uses.


Following the series, we will screen Common Waters, a powerful short film produced by the storytelling collective Rig To Flip. The film examines the ongoing conflict over public access to Colorado’s rivers and the fight to protect the public’s right to float, scout, and portage waterways across the state.
