HCCA Calendar

Whether you live in the valley or are just visiting, HCCA has an event for you! From summer hikes to winter backcountry film screenings, and volunteer stewardship opportunities, there are plenty of ways to get involved. Our events bring the community together to celebrate public lands, waters, and wildlife—while also raising awareness about current threats, proposed projects, and responsible use of our valley's most beloved lands.     In the renowned Maroon Bells Wilderness Area, Hasley Basin overlook, at 12,100 ft., presents high-elevation views that are second to none. The climb is well worth it. Group size is limited to 10 in this wilderness area.

    Our hike founder, Don Baker, loved to hike Oh-Be-Joyful at the end of each season. We keep with tradition and hike up this beautiful valley in the Raggeds Wilderness (that HCCA helped designate) to a lovely lunch spot with spectacular views. A perfect end to our 34th season of HCCA Hikes!

    Join HCCA and the Town of Crested Butte for a volunteer restoration workday on Town Ranch in Crested Butte on Saturday, August 29 from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. Volunteers will work to restore critical wetlands along the Slate River to build a healthier, more resilient watershed.
  • Working Lands Irrigation Project

    Tenth Street & Butte Avenue, Slate River on the Crested Butte Rec Path
    Join HCCA and CBLT for a volunteer workday on the Robinson parcel, conserved by CBLT in 1998, on Saturday, September 12 from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. Volunteers will work implement the final phase of installing a new irrigation system to support the property's long-term stewardship for open space.
